In the preparation of flame retardant nanocomposites, especially those involving polyamide 6 (PA6), TNPP works in conjunction with other agents like Irganox to shield the material from oxidative degradation, thereby maintaining its molecular weight and enhancing tensile strength. Additionally, TNPP is instrumental in improving the polymeric viscosity during the melt-blending process of poly(hydroxybutyrate-co-hydroxyvalerate) based clay nanocomposites, which are increasingly used in packaging materials due to their enhanced performance.
