Main Applications
As a stable, non-toxic inorganic material, titanium dioxide has an extremely high refractive index and is therefore widely used as a white pigment. Its main applications are as follows:
- In the coating industry, titanium dioxide is a commonly used pigment with many excellent characteristics, such as high hiding power, high gloss, excellent UV resistance and corrosion resistance. Titanium dioxide as a coating can be used to cover a variety of surfaces, including indoor and outdoor buildings, wood products, domestic and industrial equipment.
- Titanium dioxide can increase the brightness and opacity of plastic products. In addition, it can improve the heat resistance, light resistance and weather resistance of plastic products, thus improving the mechanical and electrical properties of plastic products.
- Titanium dioxide is widely used in the field of inks. It is not only an indispensable white pigment in the manufacture of inks, but also a necessary raw material for blending many intermediate color ink products.
- In the paper industry, titanium dioxide is used to improve the whiteness and opacity of paper products, particularly in high-quality printing papers.
