Anode is a key component of lithium/sodium ion batteries, which has a significant impact on the overall performance of the battery according to its properties and morphology. Based on the reaction mechanisms, anode materials are mainly classified into three categories: intercalation reaction type anode materials, conversion reaction type anode materials, and alloying-type anode materials. Ideal anode materials for lithium/sodium ion batteries should have excellent porosity and conductivity, low potential to cathode materials, light weight, long cycle life, low cost, and excellent durability and environmental compatibility.
