Application
Triethoxy(octyl)silane is a versatile organosilicon compound, serving as a hydrophobization agent that effectively limits coalescence in solid-stabilized emulsions. This clear, colorless liquid, also known as octyltriethoxysilane, functions as a medium-chain alkylfunctional silane. It is widely soluble in non-polar organic solvents, making it suitable as a surface modifier to impart hydrophobic properties to materials such as concrete, glass, inorganic pigments, and mineral fillers. When diluted with an appropriate solvent, Triethoxy(octyl)silane can be formulated into water-repellent products. Upon correct application, this formulation penetrates cementitious substrates, creating a chemical reaction that ensures water repellency while maintaining the substrate's original appearance.
