    Application
Tetraethyl Orthotitanate, containing up to 35% Tetraisopropyl Orthotitanate, serves multiple purposes across various applications. This colorless liquid is primarily used as a versatile reagent due to its core component, titanium. It acts as an activator and dehydrating agent, facilitating the condensation of (S)-(+)-p-toluenesulfinamide with aldehydes and ketones to produce sulfinimines. Additionally, it functions as a Ti4+ ion source, forming titanium (IV) acrylate complexes with methacrylic acid. Tetraethyl Orthotitanate also serves as a catalyst in the synthesis of esters of sterically hindered alcohols through transesterification reactions. Moreover, it is employed as a precursor for synthesizing Ti4+ ion titania nanoparticles via various techniques. These include the sol-gel synthesis of free-standing ferroelectric lead zirconate titanate nanoparticles and the production of spherical titania cores, either through the hydrolysis of Ti(IV) ethoxide droplets in contact with water vapor or by preadsorbing titanium alkoxides onto clay mineral platelets, followed by hydrolysis and calcination.
