    Application
Phenol-formaldehyde resins, commonly referred to as phenolic resins, are synthetic materials created from the chemical reaction between phenol and formaldehyde. These resins serve a wide range of applications, primarily as thermosetting plastic materials, and are utilized in the production of binders, adhesives, laminates, impregnation products, surface coatings, and casting sand. Additionally, phenolic resins are essential materials in molding mechanical and electrical parts due to their excellent properties. They offer high rigidity at elevated temperatures, good tensile strength, and outstanding heat resistance. Furthermore, phenolic resins provide good electrical properties, aging characteristics, and resistance to water, organic solvents, weak bases, and acids, all at a relatively low cost. During the curing process, they form a robust three-dimensional network structure, linked by methylene groups, which can be modified to enhance reactivity and performance by altering the chemical formulation.
