When compared to triiodide-based redox electrolytes, the FK 102 complex offers enhanced photovoltages, particularly at lower light levels, making it ideal for indoor applications by significantly improving device power output. Recommended applications include adding 0.15-0.2 M of Co(II) and approximately 0.05 M of Co(III) in liquid-based electrolytes, while in solid-state photovoltaic cells, up to 10 weight % can be added to the hole transport material system. This complex, also known as Tris(2-(1H-pyrazol-1-yl)pyridine)cobalt(III) tri[hexafluorophosphate], serves as an effective redox electrolyte in DSSCs or as a hole transport and dopant material in perovskite solar cells.
