Application
The purpose of FAPbI3 CH(NH2)2PbI3, Formamidinium Iodide Perovskite, >99%, is to serve as a key component in the construction of high-efficiency perovskite solar cells. This material offers distinct advantages, including enhanced thermal stability and resistance to decomposition compared to alternatives, alongside a broader absorption spectrum that extends into the red region, and an ideal bandgap of approximately 1.4 eV, closely aligning with the Shockley-Queisser limit for solar cell efficiency. The exceptional optoelectronic characteristics are attributed to its high-symmetry cubic perovskite structure known as the black α-phase. However, at room temperature, the α-phase tends to convert into the more stable non-perovskite δ-phase, highlighting the need for careful temperature management in practical applications.
