Acetylacetonatobis(2-phenylpyridine)iridium, 99.0%, is primarily used as a dopant/emitter in green phosphorescent OLED devices, achieving impressive performance metrics. This material can deliver extremely high brightness of 130,800 cd/m² at a current density of 1550 mA/cm² (13 V) and demonstrates a significant quantum efficiency of around 15-16%. It is acclaimed for its high quantum yields and, when incorporated into a matrix like 3,5-Diphenyl-4-(1-naphthyl)-1H-1,2,4-triazole (TAZ), can achieve outstanding external quantum efficiencies exceeding 19% and luminous power efficiencies reaching up to 60 lm/W. Such efficiencies are due to its almost perfect internal phosphorescence efficiency, along with well-balanced charge injection and triplet exciton confinement within the light-emitting layer. Further distinguishing itself from Ir(ppy)₃, Acetylacetonatobis(2-phenylpyridine)iridium, 99.0%, exhibits a higher external quantum efficiency, which is attributed to the preferential parallel alignment of its molecules' transition dipole moments relative to the substrate, unlike the isotropic orientation seen in Ir(ppy)₃ molecules.
