This compound, characterized by its needle-like or prismatic crystals, has a melting point of 177~178 °C and exhibits a peak UV absorption at 224nm when dissolved in acetamidine. Soluble in water and ethanol but insoluble in acetone, ether, and benzene, acetamidine hydroiodide reacts with alkalis to produce acetamidine, and its aqueous solutions can decompose into ammonia and acetic acid when heated. Given these properties, it must be stored in a low-temperature, sealed environment. Additionally, as an alkyl halide, it plays a crucial role in modifying the perovskite structure, which can enhance the electrical properties of perovskite solar cells and LEDs.
