By facilitating the formation of a thin, smooth, and stable solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) layer on the anode, it significantly increases cycling efficiency and retention of discharge capacity. This additive also improves battery capacity and performance at low temperatures due to its high dielectric constant and its ability to better integrate into the battery system thanks to the presence of fluorine atoms.
