    Application
    Misch Metal, with a minimum rare earth content of 99.8% and available in dry, trapezoidal ingot form, serves primarily as a doping agent for non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, iron-chrome-aluminum (Fe-Cr-Al), among others. Its application significantly enhances the operating life of Fe-Cr-Al heating devices. Composed mainly of cerium (50%), lanthanum (25%), neodymium (18%), praseodymium (5%), and other rare earth elements, it is particularly useful in manufacturing flints for cigarette lighters where it is alloyed with iron up to 30%. Additionally, Misch Metal is instrumental in improving the properties of various alloys: it enhances the malleability of iron, increases the hardness of copper alloys, strengthens aluminum alloys, reduces creep in magnesium alloys, and diminishes oxidation in nickel alloys.
