Moreover, it plays a significant role in the manufacture of vitamin B6 and finds application in enhancing, preserving, and inhibiting nickel plating processes. In biological research, it is utilized for examining nematocidal activity. Additionally, it functions as a basic brightener in nickel electroplating baths, a stabilizer for chlorinated hydrocarbons, a polymerization accelerator, and a co-solvent for paint and varnish removal, while also being involved in the production of the herbicide Barban.
