    Application
Hydroxypropyl Methacrylate (HPMA), a clear, colorless liquid stabilized with MEHQ, serves as a versatile functional monomer primarily for the development of acrylic polymers. It is instrumental in producing hot solid acrylic coatings, styrene-butadiene latex modifiers, and acrylic-modified polyurethane coatings, as well as water-soluble plating coatings, adhesives, textile finishing agents, and paper coatings. Its role extends to enhancing products like photosensitive paints and polyurethane vinyl resin modifiers. Notably, HPMA is utilized in the production of acrylic polyols for automotive components, refurbishment, and industrial coatings, and it serves as a comonomer in formulations with styrene-based unsaturated polyesters and PMMA-based acrylic resins. Its unique properties, attributed to the hydroxyl groups, improve adhesion, provide cross-linking sites, and impart resistance to corrosion, fogging, and abrasion, making it ideal for applications in adhesives, inks, and specialty coatings. Additionally, HPMA is valued for manufacturing UV-curable photopolymer printing plates and as a hydrophobic hydroxy monomer essential in creating sealants for vacuum impregnation of cast aluminum components.
