This white to nearly white powder or crystal serves as a critical component in the synthesis of epoxy resins and has applications as a catalyst in the thermal oxidation of aromatic hydrocarbons. As a crystallization and oxidizing agent, it plays a significant role in dehydrating crystals. Notably, when used to prepare imine oligomers and thermosets, BPAF exhibits superior solubility in organic solvents and increased melt viscosity due to its unique molecular structure. Upon thermal crosslinking, the BPAF-derived thermosets demonstrate impressive thermal stability, with a glass transition temperature exceeding 404°C and a 5% weight-loss temperature surpassing 549°C. Additionally, these polymers display excellent high-frequency dielectric properties and commendable mechanical strength, positioning them as prominent candidates for use in heat-resistant structural and functional composite materials.
