This colorless, clear liquid is instrumental in the production of antistatic adhesives and liquid crystal display devices. It functions by hydrolyzing in the presence of moisture to form silanols, which subsequently react to create siloxanes. This reactivity is beneficial in several areas: it acts as a crosslinker in one-part moisture-curable urethane adhesives, sealants, and coatings, enhancing durability and performance. Additionally, it is utilized as an adhesion promoter in both one-part and two-part urethane systems and silicone sealants or coatings, significantly improving adhesion to organic substrates with active hydrogen atoms.
