Application
1,2,3-Trichlorobenzene serves multiple industrial purposes despite being produced in lower quantities compared to its isomeric counterparts. Primarily, it is employed in the detoxification of hazardous organic waste liquids through catalytic hydrotreatment. It finds use as a solvent for high-melting-point products and as a coolant in electrical installations, as well as in the tempering of glass. Moreover, it functions as a solvent, transformer fluid, dye carrier, and a key component in termite control formulations. In the textile industry, it is utilized in polyester dyeing processes and as a lubricant, and it also acts as a heat transfer medium. Additionally, 1,2,3-Trichlorobenzene is valuable as a chemical intermediate in the synthesis of 2,3-dichlorophenol.
