Description
Zinc acetate dehydrate was used as seeds to grow ZnO nanorods on the microfibers of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) fabric.
It may be used in the synthesis of layered Zn-arylphosphonates with potential application in sorption, ion exchange or catalysis. Also it may be used in the ultrasonic preparation of zinc sulfide nanoparticles coated on silica particles.

Application
Zinc acetate [Zn(C2H3O2)2] is used as a mordant for dyeing cloth, as a wood preservative, as a laboratory agent, and as a dietary supplement.Zinc acetate has been used as an excipient in a variety of pharmaceutical formulations including topical gels, lotions, and solutions, and subcutaneous injections. It has also been investigated for use in an oral controlled-release formulation for water-soluble drugs in combination with sodium alginate and xanthan gum. Therapeutically, zinc acetate has been used in oral capsules for the treatment of Wilson's disease. Zinc acetate has also been demonstrated to be effective as a spermicide in vaginal contraceptives.
