It finds its primary application as a thermoelectric material, facilitating the conversion of heat into electricity. Enhanced performance can be achieved by doping it with elements like indium and calcium, which can elevate its thermoelectric figure of merit (ZT) to approximately 1.65 at 840 K, alongside delivering a power factor of around 47 μW cm⁻¹ K⁻².
