PVF is often used in applications that require flame retardant protection, another common application is in metal sheets and raincoats to protect against harsh weather. Also used as surface coating for PVC films.

It has excellent chemical resistance, excellent weather resistance and low breathability; it has extremely high bending resistance and burns very slowly.
