    Application
Polypropylene, with a melt index of 35g/10min, serves a critical role in various applications due to its unique properties. This low-density resin strikes an excellent balance of thermal, chemical, and electrical attributes, providing moderate strength that can be significantly enhanced through the use of reinforcing agents like glass fiber. Despite its limited heat resistance, polypropylene can endure environments involving boiling water or steam sterilization. It is notably resistant to chemical attacks and remains stable against aqueous solutions of inorganic salts and mineral acids and bases, even at elevated temperatures. Moreover, it withstands most organic chemicals and has no solvent at room temperature, though it is susceptible to attack by halogens, fuming nitric acid, and certain hydrocarbons at high temperatures. Polypropylene is translucent, capable of undergoing autoclaving, and its properties can be improved through compounding with fillers, blending with synthetic elastomers, or copolymerizing with other monomers. It is used as a modifier for waxes to reduce blocking and abrasion and improves pigment dispersion in films and fibers. The resin is particularly useful as a thermoplastic molding material and in producing thin films that serve as effective alternatives to paper in capacitors, given their ability to minimize electrical loss.
