Application
Polyamide resin is a versatile synthetic polymer designed through the chemical bonding of amino and carboxylic acid groups, resulting in macromolecules linked by amide bonds. These polymers, which include well-known materials like nylon, are characterized by their protein-like structure due to the condensation polymerization process. This process involves the formation of amide groups, indicated by the CO-NH chemical formula, either through polymerization of amino acids or the reaction between carboxyl and amine groups. Polyamide resins can be classified based on their structural components, such as the frequency of phenyl rings, leading to the formation of distinct types like aramids when 85% of the amide bonds are directly linked to phenyl rings, and nylons when the percentage is lower. While both linear and aromatic forms exist, polyamide resins are valued for their toughness and solvent resistance, making them ideal for protective coatings in various applications, including insulation protection. Additionally, their aromatic variants contribute to low-voltage insulation materials capable of withstanding high temperatures.
