In commercial settings, P type Bismuth(III) telluride is often doped with selenium sulfide to enhance its electrical conductivity. This modification makes it suitable for various applications, especially in thermoelectric devices. Although insoluble in water, both doped and undoped forms exhibit similar physical properties. Commercially available mixtures may contain a significant percentage of bismuth tritelluride along with stannous telluride and some tellurium.
