Application
Methylamine hydrobromide serves as a crucial precursor in the synthesis of methylammonium lead bromide-based perovskite materials, known for their excellent optical properties, including green emission and photoluminescence. These materials play a significant role in the development of renewable energy devices such as LEDs, perovskite solar cells (PSCs), and photovoltaic cells. As a precursor of MAPbBr3 perovskites, Methylamine hydrobromide contributes to the creation of organic-inorganic hybrid structures beneficial for field-effect transistors (FETs), LEDs, and PVs. These perovskites feature a band gap of 2.3 eV and are used to adjust the band gap in mixed halide compositions, serving as effective light absorbers in high-energy photon applications and as the front cell in tandem cells. MAPbBr3-based solar cells offer distinctive advantages, including a potentially higher open-circuit voltage compared to their iodide counterparts, and high-efficiency solar cells with notable VOC, fill factor, and power conversion efficiency have been documented. Additionally, this perovskite's nanoplatelet form has been successfully applied in light-emitting diodes, showcasing strong photoluminescence with a quantum yield reaching 85%.
