2-Methyl-4,6-bis(octylsulfanylmethyl)phenol is a multifunctional phenolic antioxidant designed to offer outstanding protection against thermo-oxidative degradation in a wide range of organic materials, including elastomers, plastics, adhesives, sealants, oils, and lubricants. This product is particularly effective in stabilizing both raw and compound forms of elastomers such as BR, SBR, NBR, SBS, and natural rubber, whether they are emulsion or solution polymerized. It ensures excellent stabilization for adhesives and sealant applications as well as latex, while being non-discoloring and non-staining, with low volatility and high stability towards light and heat. This antioxidant can be used independently at low levels, providing significant processing and long-term heat aging resilience. Additionally, it can be combined with secondary antioxidants and other stabilizers when required, although it is not recommended for use in odor-sensitive hot melt adhesives or their raw materials. Furthermore, the product boasts exceptional effectiveness across diverse applications and carries extensive food contact approvals.
