Application
Di-T-Butylsilane serves as a versatile reagent in various chemical syntheses. It facilitates the creation of complex silicon-containing compounds through specialized reactions. For instance, it can engage in dehydrogenative coupling to form 1,1-di-tert-butyl-N-phenylsilanamine when combined with aniline and a supported gold catalyst. It also supports the synthesis of benzyloxy di-tert-butylsilane via the dehydrocoupling of benzyl alcohol in the presence of a NaOH catalyst. Additionally, it participates in silylation reactions to produce di-tert-butyl(3-cyclohexylprop-1-yn-1-yl)silane by reacting with 2-propyn-1-ylcyclohexane using alkali metal hydroxide as a catalyst. Di-T-Butylsilane also acts as a sterically-hindered silane reducing agent, showcasing its broad applicability in chemical processes.
