CPVC Resin is a light-coloured solid that serves as a commercial variant of polyvinyl chloride, enhanced through chlorination to achieve superior corrosion resistance and endure higher operating temperatures, up to 20-30°C above standard PVC. This modification allows CPVC to be extensively used in the construction of piping, fittings, ducts, tanks, and pumps that manage highly corrosive liquids and hot water. Its chemical resistance is comparable to rigid PVC, particularly excelling in various challenging environments. For example, CPVC has shown satisfactory resistance in 20wt.% acetic acid, 40-50 wt.% chromic acid, 60-70 wt.% nitric acid at 30°C, 80 wt.% sulfuric acid, hexane at 50°C, and 80 wt.% sodium hydroxide up to 80°C, making it an ideal choice for demanding industrial applications.
