    Application
2,2-Bis(3-amino-4-hydroxyphenyl)hexafluoropropane serves a crucial role as a polyimide monomer in the production of heat-resistant polymers, with a particular emphasis on the fabrication of specialty polymeric electronic materials such as fluorinated polyimides. This compound, characterized as a white crystal, is slightly soluble in DMSO and methanol, and it demonstrates a non-toxic profile, making it safe for storage at room temperature when protected from light and air. Its unique structure, consisting of two aminophenols connected by hexafluoropropane, enables the synthesis of polyimide films through its reaction with BTDA. These films exhibit enhanced mechanical properties when subjected to 60Co irradiation, significantly improving tensile strength, tensile modulus, and elongation at break. Additionally, the outstanding proton conductivity and robust chemical and thermal stability of these fluorinated films render them ideally suited for fuel cell applications. Beyond this, 2,2-Bis(3-amino-4-hydroxyphenyl)hexafluoropropane is also utilized to produce polybenzoxazole membranes, which find utility as materials in semiconductor manufacturing.
